About the Role:
The Data Scientist Co-op Intern will contribute to the development of innovative AI-driven solutions for education. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply data science skills to impactful projects that transform how students learn and succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze large datasets to derive actionable insights for our AI-powered platforms.
- Assist in developing and fine-tuning predictive algorithms for Akamori’s XalyScore™ and XalyLearn™.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to optimize platform features.
- Support the creation of machine learning models that enhance educational outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data visualizations, dashboards, and presentations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics program at a recognized Canadian university.
- Eligibility: Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Skills: Proficiency in Python or R; experience with data analysis libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn; familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau or Matplotlib.
- Knowledge: Understanding of basic machine learning concepts and algorithms.
- Personal Traits: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; eagerness to learn and innovate.
